Background

Summary

I have played cello since the age of 5. I studied music at Southern Adventist University and received my Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have been teaching middle school orchestra at Campbell Middle School for 11 years.

My primary job at Campbell Middle School was to teach string instruments to 6th-8th graders. I have developed a successful program of over 260 students a year. I am in charge of planning performances for school and community events. I also prepare 7th and 8th graders for State Large Group Performance Evaluations. We have consistently received Superior and Excellent ratings at these evaluations. I also help coordinate a Disney World trip with the rest of our Music Department each year.

I am also the director and founder of:
Campbell Fiddlers- group of students who meet once a week to learn and perform fiddle and folk tunes.

Campell Symphonic Orchestra- audition only advanced group of students who meet once a week to learn and perform more challenging repertoire.
